Hillend Camping Ayrshire

About Us

We're a non-electric, quiet, dog-friendly pop-up campsite and Motorhome stopover based on smallholding in rural Ayrshire.

Encircled by beautiful woodland, we're the ideal hideaway for those looking to set up camp in a relaxing and secluded location, but still within easy reach of local towns and villages.

Enjoy the tranquillity of the stream that meanders through our site, and the popular River Ayr Way is roughly two miles from the base, ideal for dog walkers and ramblers alike. Touring in the locality offers visits to Dumfries House, a Duchy of King Charles offering a fantastic day out for families and admirers of fine architecture, gardens and scenery. The South West Coast 300 route is also a short drive away.

Our grass pitches are spacious and unmarked, and whilst our site is about relaxing and getting back to nature, we're not entirely off-grid and have a hot shower, flushable toilets, drinking water and washing-up facilities.

Our site is all about bringing camping, back to a time, when kids made their own fun and parents could relax. Not forgetting, camping wouldn't be camping without a firepit. Off-the-ground firepits and BBQs are welcomed.

Please note we don't have a chemical disposal at the moment.
